About SCMA

Since its inception in 2008, The South Carolina Music Awards has grown rapidly in popularity; attracting music connoisseurs from all over the country. Last year, over 2,000 people attended the weekend gala of events and this year promises to surpass that amount. The dynamic creative partnership of Co-Producers, Marcus Housey and Shera Bass; created the awards as a way to focus on “the best and brightest" of South Carolina talent.  “This unique event also fits in well with our marketing objectives and advertising slogan, South Carolina Premiere Award Show.  The South Carolina Music Awards is produced by and was created out of the growing popularity of Carolina’s music”. The SCMA’s strive to honor A-list talents who are setting the trends and paving the way for the latest generation.

What does it take to earn a nomination at the South Carolina Music Awards?
Nominees are selected by individual nominations which are considered your Fans! Final nominees are selected by the top in their category, based on the amount of nominations recieved. The South Carolina Music Awards Committee does not select any nominees or in any way choose the winner. All Votes are tally by a third party agency.
Never assume that we already know who you are or what moves you’re making. Submitted your Media Kit/EPK to us by mail or email is encouraged. All nominees are selected by their fans through channels such as: retail sales, radio spins, performances/touring, mixtape placements, online presence, and overall artist visibility. The SCMA committee always research prospective nominees to verify there qualification.
